Serah Kassim is an Affordable Afrocentric Retail Store/brand. One that uses Afrocentric clothing to promote African textiles and sis! I can tell you for free that this brand is the real deal…

Serah Kassim caters to the woman who has an eye for stylish, vibrant and chic pieces. The brand recently launched their online retail store and they stock tops, dresses, skirts, two piece sets, maxi dresses and more.

Prior to the launch of their online retail store, I was sent two gorgeous pieces from their collection.

I got the African two piece set which I’m styling in this post and the Osuashii African print dress. Make sure to stay tuned to my blog and instagram so you see how I styled the dress.

The African Two Piece Set

The set is made up of a crop top with full length sleeves and a maxi skirt with a thigh high slit. I think the brand did some due diligence because I know I’ve put out posts saying how I love clothes with thigh high slits 😁

Things I like about this set. Let’s start with choice of fabric. The fabric used is high quality African fabric commonly known as Ankara. The color is also on point as the subtle shade of teal goes well with my skin tone.

I also like how they used an elastic band to secure the bottom part of the top. This keeps it in place compared to some crop tops I’ve seen where a band was used instead.

The styling…

The sleeves too have an elastic band which allows you pull them up if you want to go for that full puffy look (a style tip on how you can rock the blouse).

Overall, the fact that it’s a two piece and it’s made here in Nigeria (the quality and finishing is so good) gets me. We all know how versatile two pieces are.

You can style the top with palazzo pants or jeans or even a pair of white pants, a denim skirt too works. The skirt can go with a tee (tied up in front), a tank top or even a corset.

For this post, I styled this two piece with minimal jewelry, a layered neck piece, chunky bracelet and black heels. The outfit comes with it’s own oomph so I didn’t want to go overboard with my accessories.

Even though the top can be worn as an off the shoulder top (see picture below) or like a regular shoulder top (as seen above), I felt more comfortable wearing it as a shoulder top, as i am on the conservative side, plus my hair covers my shoulder and most of my top area. (Another tip)

The two piece is chic, fun & flirty outfit that can be dressed up or casually. Just trade the heels for slippers and you’re good to go.
