Kimonos are so in right now and trust me there’s everything to love about them. They come in different lengths, colors, patterns, materials and can be worn in so many cool ways.
As mentioned in an earlier post, I dread attending weddings. The thought of what to wear, hair, makeup, nails being on point can be a little overwehelming for me. Arrrgh! When I got the wedding invite, I literally panicked. There was no excuse to get me out of attending this wedding and since I had no ‘wedding worthy outfit’ in my wardrobe, mum and I went dress shopping. Yaay!
Wake up –> say my morning prayer –> reach for my phone; scroll through messages, hiss at some, reply some, delete some –> stagger to my wardrobe; fling the door open –> stare for like 2 minutes, hiss, roll my eyes, fall back into bed and scream ——-> ”I need more clothes”…
”Pink calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, abandonment and neglect. Studies have confirmed that exposure to large amounts of pink can have a calming effect on the nerves and create physical weakness in people”
Some mornings I wake up grouchy, really grouchy 😐 I don’t feel like getting out of bed, talking to anyone or doing anything. This could easily be achieved if I lived alone and was self employed right but nah, I still live with my parents and have a 9-5 job *sigh* so I do have to say good morning, have lil chit chats with the sister or whoever and then go to work.
I recently bought a plain snood with no idea of how or when I was going to wear it, bearing in mind that it’s crazy hot these days, so you can imagine how elated I was when I woke up this morning to slight drizzle and cool breeze. Being a Friday, I whipped out my tennis shoes, a pair of really comfy denims, a black tank top (I know I’m not supposed to wear black for a week but common *rolls eyes*) and my snood 🙂
On those booooring Saturday and Sunday afternoons when I’ve got nothing to do, nowhere to go to and sometimes, no power, I’d go up to my room, lock my door, bring out all my clothes and start dressing up. I would pair outfits in ways I’ve never worn them before. Mix and match colors, add accessories, try on different pairs of shoes. Most times I’d sneak off to my sisters wardrobe and raid it for whatever I need hehehe and voila! outfits for the new week 🙂 (with my room looking like a battlefield).
”Amaka, you can’t wear that. Try this instead, ooh I love this dress, try this too, ‘don’t you think its a bit too short? Nope! But I’m not comfy’ Okay, okay lets try this pair of jeans and that yellow top, hold on while I go steal Ann’s gold pumps. *Few minutes later* Yes! We have a winner 🙂
That’s me and my cousin trying to get her ready for her date hehehe’‘
