As mentioned in an earlier post, I dread attending weddings. The thought of what to wear, hair, makeup, nails being on point can be a little overwehelming for me. Arrrgh! When I got the wedding invite, I literally panicked. There was no excuse to get me out of attending this wedding and since I had no ‘wedding worthy outfit’ in my wardrobe, mum and I went dress shopping. Yaay!

I was at the mall a while ago sitting in a corner with a friend wating for our movie to start, I couldnt help but look around, noticing what most ladies had on. It was glaring that most people get carried away with what’s in vogue not caring if it suits their body type or not. Now this is WRONG!
By Thursday, I had my whole weekend planned out. On Saturday, I would attend the Nigerian Fashion Bloggers Yard Sale, then the art show hosted by Otoxic, wrap up the day by seeing a movie with friends. I was totally unaware that the Slum 2 School Africa volunteer party was scheduled for the same day and I had to pick. Slum 2 School is a volunteer organization aimed at taking kids out of the slums and putting them in school to enable them lead and live better lives. Wake up –> say my morning prayer –> reach for my phone; scroll through messages, hiss at some, reply some, delete some –> stagger to my wardrobe; fling the door open –> stare for like 2 minutes, hiss, roll my eyes, fall back into bed and scream ——-> ”I need more clothes”…
You know how you go around living life, minding your business (like me 🙂 ) and every now and then you come across people that dress absolutely nice.. And you go, wow, she/he must have some idea about fashion, to pull of such mash up, or they must have broken the bank to look so good? Well, I’ve learnt that one just has to be imaginative and bold enough to pair up certain pieces and colors together and no, you don’t necessarily have to break the bank to achieve this. There are so many stores you can get really cool clothes and accessories from at reasonable prices (post for another day).

Some mornings I wake up grouchy, really grouchy 😐 I don’t feel like getting out of bed, talking to anyone or doing anything. This could easily be achieved if I lived alone and was self employed right but nah, I still live with my parents and have a 9-5 job *sigh* so I do have to say good morning, have lil chit chats with the sister or whoever and then go to work.
I recently bought a plain snood with no idea of how or when I was going to wear it, bearing in mind that it’s crazy hot these days, so you can imagine how elated I was when I woke up this morning to slight drizzle and cool breeze. Being a Friday, I whipped out my tennis shoes, a pair of really comfy denims, a black tank top (I know I’m not supposed to wear black for a week but common *rolls eyes*) and my snood 🙂
