Beachwear is simply clothing suitable for wearing on the beach, though not necessarily for swimming in. They are usually comfortable, light and colorful…

As you all know, I spent my weekend lounging on cabanas and waking up to the beautiful sights & sounds at the Popbeachclub beach houses. What I didn’t include in that post was Beachwear.

It is important to wear/ carry along with you very light and comfortable clothing when going to the beach or even the poolside. The norm is people go to the beach or poolside when it’s hot & sunny right?

The ideal Beach wears are:

  • Shorts (could be high waisted) + a tanktop or a loose top
  • One-Piece Swimsuit + Denim Skirt
  • Kimono + Sun hats + Sunglasses
  • Flowy Maxi Dress + Embellished Bag or even a Raffia bag
  • A mesh dress that could act as a cover-up dress for your bathing suit
  • Big hoop earrings for that extra extra
  • You could throw in some bracelets and layered necklaces too.

You get the gist, right?

So for my weekend getaway, I packed super comfy clothes (which included three pair of shorts, tees and an easy breezy dress). Oh yes, I stole my big sisters flower earrings to complete my look. You’ll see.

BeachWear…

For our trip to the beach house, I wore a black tee, Ankara shorts and a pair of sneakers. Knowing we were going to get on a boat and walk a bit at some point to get to the beach house, my main priority (as always) was the comfort. I call it “being comfortable in style”.

On the second day, I went for the clean but chic look. I wore a white easy breezy knee-length dress and jazzed the outfit up with my sisters’ flower earrings (hey big sis).

The earrings and my slippers were the right amount of color I needed to make my dress standout.

The thing about dresses like these is the ability to switch up your look real quick with the aid of accessories. I spotted my friends hat and voila, look whos looking Tres chic…

A Mallam came around to sell his wears and I spotted this gorgeous raffia bag. Even though I didn’t buy it, It made for good pictures props and will definitely serve as a beachwear accessory too.

Beachwear

For beach essentials, I will recommend the following:

  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent lotion
  • Flip flop or very comfortable shoes
  • Sunglasses to protect your eyes
  • A tote bag or any bag you can carry around easily
  • Snacks
  • A cover cloth
  • Towel(s)
  • Power bank
  • Lip balm
  • Umbrella
  • Water bottle & a good book

I’m sure there’s more but these are the ones I can think of at the moment. Please add some more in the comment section below.

On Sunday, (the day we left for home), I wore my black shorts and black cute bunny top. I don’t own any kimonos (imagine and I sew) if not I would have incorporated it but oh well…

My white dress and bunny tee were gotten from @fairshopping.ng on instagram.

That’s it loves. I kept it comfy & colorful. Until my next post

Stay you, Stay beeeyuteeful…
