Having a two piece outfit is like having different outfits because you can style the two-piece in various ways, with different pieces and accessories churning out a new result each time – Me.
In my last fashion post, I mentioned that I am working with and open to working with more #MadeInNigeria brands to promote these brands and get my readers to trust and patronize our local brands more.
“Nigerians buying Nigerian products is very important and it goes beyond the symbolism of wearing Nigerian-made dresses. It is important for our economy and well-being,” Prof. Osinbajo said.
Wouldn’t we like our economy to improve while we slay? Hahaha. In today’s episode of #MadeInNigeria, I am styling a two piece outfit from …. *drum roll* @shop_epiphany29.
I couldn’t imagine having this series without featuring my own brand. That would be me committing fashion treason.
Two Piece Outfit…
Shop_epiphany29 is a female ready to wear brand that produces easy, trendy, fun and affordable outfits. The brand believes in minimalistic fashion and that comfort in fashion is key whilst meeting the needs of clients.
As the creative director, I have styles all planned out before I go fabric shopping but to be honest, the styles tend to change when I see the fabrics available. Each fabric speaks to me differently. They all tell their story. Some have characters so strong, the style in question has to match up to it.
That’s exactly what happened with this dark floral fabric. It spoke layers and so layers it was and as a huge fan of tiered sleeves, I decided to make this V-neck cold shoulder three-tier outfit.
I opted for shorts instead of pants because of the fabric. I didn’t want it to come off as ‘too much’ and at the same time wanted to keep it super fun and casual.

The material used is light crepe which doesn’t need lining, as the choice of fabric is very important for certain styles. For the sleeves, you don’t want them too light and not too heavy so they can fall and have some level of movement.
The blouse is a slightly deep v neck and the straps are about one inch in width. The shorts have a regular band & a short front zip, and about an inch of elastic on each side for those who like to wear their clothes for a long period of time without worrying about weight gain.
And yes, the shorts have side pockets too. Very important feature clothes should have lol.
Personally, I tilt towards having more two-piece outfits because it just seems like the more clothes one has the more you feel like you have ‘nothing to wear’ and confuse your style (and let’s not even get into how much wasted money is sitting in there).
Fashion should be about having fewer clothes and more versatile pieces in your wardrobe. It’s about good quality items on high rotation, knowing what shapes and styles work, and being ruthless when it comes to frequent clean outs.
You would hardly regret investing in a two-piece trust me on this one…
On styling, one can pair the top alone with black denim or pants to work, and for those who are daring enough to rock bold colors, they can pair the top with mustard colored pants or even a high waist skirt.
The shorts can be worn with a crisp white shirt and sneakers or if you love black like me, you could throw on a black tee or blouse. A different unique look each time I assure you.
